Providing access to a SkyPort Workspace
Subject
Providing access to a SkyPort Workspace with Gen-IC
Description/Additional Context
To delegate management of a Workspace, a Workspace Owner or Admin can give access to a user. The access can either be “Workspace Admin” or “Gen-IC Admin”
A Workspace Admin can’t give an other user the Workspace Admin permission, only a Workspace Owner can.
Solution
There are two ways of giving access to a workspace, from the dashboard or from the manage user’s page.
The first way is from the dashboard of SkyPort, clicking on the contextual menu, you will have the options to “Invite User” directly or to “Manager User”, which will redirect to the “Manage User” page
By clicking `Invite User`
, you will be able to enter the email of the invited user and then select their role and then invite them.
The roles shown are only the one that the user is able to delegate. So a Workspace Admin
will never see the Workspace Admin
and a Gen-IC admin
will only ever see the Endpoint User's permission.
Once invited, the user will receive an email with a link to accept the invitation.
The link is only valid for 24 hours
The other way of giving access to a user is to go through the Manage User
option. The option is accessible from the contextual menu of a Workspace or from the Account Menu.
Once on the page, clicking the blue “+” button will open the same menu to invite a user as the one from the dashboard. From here, you must fill out the email of the invited user, select their role and then click the Invite
button to send the invitation email.
Once invited, you will see the invited user and their permissions in the Manage User
page in the list of users
