End User wants to temporarily add more virtual client users for an event

Subject

End User wants to temporarily add more virtual client users for an event

Description/Additional Context

End User has requested a certain number of users for their event and was granted instance(s) to meet their requirements but later on they want more users to access the intercom system.

Solution

A subscription capacity cannot be changed on the fly. In that case linking would be the solution. There are 2 ways of linking available:

  1. Linking between 2 Gen-IC instances

Gen-IC with 32 Virtual Client user capacity temprorily linked to 8 Virtual Client users to temporarily expand a continously running Gen-IC

To link 2 Gen-IC instances, you need to have at least a Gen-IC admin permission .

One can only link 2 instances of the same subscription level: for example 2 Gen-IC with Essential subscription or 2 Gen-IC with Premium subscription

It can be done by accessing the CCM of one of the instances as shown below:

Then go in the CCM and click on the Linking button

Select Gen-IC Link Member

Then select the master instance that it can be linked to

On SkyPort webpage, you will see that the 2 instances are now linked with an identifier for the link master and the link member. Now the 2 Gen-IC instances will share the same users and any user addition to a link member will be added to all the members of the link group.

  1. Linking between a Gen-IC instance and on-premise LQ device(s)

There are 2 ways of doing linking between Gen-IC and on-premise LQ

a. Register the LQ device prior to linking the device

Once registered, the LQ will appear on SkyPort’s dashboard. Then it can be linked the same way as for a Gen-IC instance as shown above.

And the final result will look like this:

b. Directly linking the LQ to Gen-IC from LQ CCM

The user will be able to go directly under the linking menu on LQ and select the Gen-IC instance to be linked to without being registered on SkyPort. They will be prompted to register their LQ before proceeding to linking as described above
