Can I change the name and location of a Gen-IC instance

Description/Additional Context

The information of a subscription can be edited by any users that have the required permissions (see What are the different SkyPort permission user levels).

There are two information that can be edited. The deployment target (Where in the world is the Gen-IC deployed) or the name of the Gen-IC

For LQ that are registered, the name is maintained by the LQ, not SkyPort.

Solution

Yes, the partner and all invited users with the permissions that allows it can change the Gen-IC information.

Gen-IC instance information can only be updated when the instances is stopped. We can’t update a running instance information

 

To update the instance’s name or its deployment target, click the configuration button on the top right of a card (In list view, the button is located in the action column with the same icon).

A configuration window will appear that will let the user update the information.

Changing the deployment target might affect the availability of the Gen-IC once started if the DNS has been cached.
