Can I use fiber to copper media converters with IP Antennas?
FS II IP antennas use AES67 traffic/protocol and therefore ptp is critical. We don’t recommend using media converters because they may add latency which could affect ptp. Please use the guide below to see the requirements for an AES67 network. If you must use media converters for a temporary setup, try using media converters which do not have a switch chip. There are multiple manufacturers making simple “dumb” media converters. These devices will only convert electrical to optical signals, and viceversa, without adding any switching latency.
