    How can I use a FSII BP as an “IFB” in Arcadia?

    This article is to recreate an IFB.  The normally closed GPI is used to constantly route Program to the IFB until some one triggers the GPO by talking to the IFB and mute the program. 

    First create a Channel under Configuration, Channels, labeled “IFB.” (HelixNet Enable the channel if HelixNet devices need to talk to the IFB)

    Assign that channel under Configuration, Roles, as a forced listen to the FSII belt pack being used as the IFB beltpack.
    And also assign that channel to any other Roles that will need to talk to the IFB Beltpack.

    Now for the Logic part:

    • Go to the Configuration, Logic page, and select a GPO and assign the Key Target to the “IFB” Channel and the On Behavior action to “Talk-Only.”

    • On the same Configuration, Logic page select a GPI, then add the program you want the Beltpack IFB to hear as the “Source.” In this example we are routing mix minus 1 to the FSBP IFB Role.

    • Then Select the Destination, or Beltpack Roll you would like to be used as the IFB. Ours is labeled “FSBP IFB.”

    • Then the Action is set to “XPT.” Crosspoint. Which means that when that GPI is enabled it will route the MixMinus1 program audio to the FSBP IFB.

    • Lastly you need to physically Wire the GPO you selected to the GPI you selected as normally closed. This will let the GPI remain enabled until the GPO is triggered. Meaning program audio will always be heard at the Beltpack (IFB) until someone talks to the “IFB” Channel, which triggers the GPO to open the GPI and stop the program audio from being heard.

      • (Example of wiring if using GPO 1 Normally Closed and GPI 1):

        • Add a DB9 connector to GPIO 1, then add 3 wire links. Link Pins 2 and 5, Pin 1 and the DB9 Shield, and Pins 4 and 9.

    -The wiring below is used when using a footswitch to trigger an action hence the GPI inputs are reversed and we are using the normally open GPI input
