Matrix: How do I create a IFB in ECS V5.2
An IFB (Interruptible Fold Back) is a matrix function where a on-air User (IFB Destination) listens to a programme feed (IFB Source). Any talker (IFB Talker) to the on-air User will dim / cut the programme feed and allow the user to talk-over the programme feed In a typical broadcast application, program audio is routed to the “talent”. The Director or Sound Engineer can then key over the program (interrupt) and talk to the talent.
How to set up an IFB
1) Go to Matrix Hardware (Cards & Ports)
Select the IFB_destination port and in the Advanced settings enable Global IFB and set the interrupt (dim) level
2) Go to Local Advance
Set a Forced Listen crosspoint from the IFB_Program source to the IFB destination
3) Go to Panel Programming
Programme the IFB_Destination port label onto a panel key
