How do I install PuTTY?

PuTTY is a third party freeware application which can be downloaded. It allows a Telnet connection to the Gemini host SPY logging and also enables debug commands to be sent to the host to expose more in-depth debug information.


Step-by-step guide

  1.  Install the PuTTY  application on the Database Supervisor host, set the Host IP Address to the IP address of the Gemini host (10.10.138.24 is the address of the Gemini in this example), and set the connection type to ‘Telnet’.



2.   Once the IP Logger and the Telnet sessions running can you try the following test >>


Ping Test

Type the following command in the Telnet session.

SerialRedirect 1

Then,

gemini

Type > nw ping “***.***.***.***”

Where ***.***.***.*** is the IP address of the SIP server.

This will send a ping from the Gemini host to the SIP server. Can you see if the ping is answered?
