Please use the guide below to aid in building or pinning out Clear-Com 4-wire to Grass Valley CopperHead 3404 5-pin XLR Intercom connections

  1. The CopperHead 3404 CCU is available in 3 intercom options.
    1. 2wire Clear-Com: best used to interface with Clear-Com Partyline products.
    2. 2wire RTS: best used to interface with RTS products, but can be wired and configured to work with Clear-Com products.
    3. ** 4 wire Intercom (via 5-pin XLR): best used to interface with 4wire analog intercom. **
  2. The drawing below represents a 4wire analog intercom connection via 5-pin XLR connectors on the CCU.

Pro Tip

Use a partyline to communicate to all camera operators simultaneously.

To create a partyline between CCU interfaces in Eclipse HX, simply create a new Partyline, add all associated interfaces for the CCUs from the Available Members pane below, and apply the map.

-You can now assign that partyline to panels for communications with ALL camera ops.

**You may also wish to add each CCU to an existing partyline instead of creating a new partyline. Simply select the Partyline, add desired interfaces for the CCUs from the Available Members pane below, and apply the map.

2 Channel Configuration Tip: Example 1

Channel A: use this channel for point-to-point or direct communications to each camera op. This allows any panel to talk directly to each camera operator separately. This channel will NOT be a member of any partyline.

Channel B: use this channel for a production partyline (or similar) when Channel A is being used for point-to-point comms. This allows any panel to talk to ALL camera ops simultaneously.

2 Channel Configuration Tip: Example 2

Channel A: use this channel for a production partyline. Either create a new partyline or add all associated CCU interfaces to an existing partyline.

Channel B: create a new partyline with ONLY the camera CCU Channel B interfaces to allow camera ops to talk among themselves.
