From EHX V7.0 to V9.1 (current) Solution

Solution: Default TCP/IP ports used by the Eclipsesystem Eclipse system are: 

Port 6001 for IP Panel communications, 

Port 42001 for ECS communicationsand communications and

1300 for the matrix eventlogevent log. Ports 42001 and 1300 are used by the UDP/protocol. Eclipse  Eclipse system administrators areadvised are advised to check with networkadministrators with network administrators or IT that these default ports may be used without causing a conflict with anyother any other application on the network. The  The Eclipse processor card can use astatic a static IP address (recommended) or be configured for DHCP from EHX softwaresystems software systems layout screen. Each  Each IVC-32 card requires a staticIP static IP address. It is recommended that theseaddresses that these addresses are issued by IT or the Network Administrator to avoid conflicts with any other systemon system on the network and are not part of the DHCP dynamically assigned range. 

Summary

bc == is broadcast data i.e: 192.168.42.255 (directed broadcast packets NOT global broadcast packets which are 255.255.255.255)

dir == directed. (standard point to point TCP/IP packets)
