What connections are available on the E-IPA Interface Card

Using EHX v12 (July 2020) the following interconnections are available using a E-IPA card

Multi-functional IP Interface: E-IPA is a universal IP interface card, simultaneously supporting connections to local panels, IP Wireless Transceivers, Agent-IC virtual clients, LQ IP audio units and now to third party equipment with AES-67/SMPTE ST 2110-30 compatibility.

Connection to Third party AES67/ SMPTE ST 2110 audio interfaces: E-IPA provides AES-67 / SMPTE ST 2110 streams direct IP connection to third party audio interface devices.

Port by Port configuration: IPA card already supports a wide range of IP interfaces with port by port configuration …  this capability is extended in EHX 12 with the option to send and receive AES-67 / SMPTE ST2110-30 audio streams.

SMPTE ST 2110-30 level A & B: Each E-IPA card can be configured for either 1ms or 125us packet times. This ensures compatibility with installations which use both SMPTE ST 2110-30 at conformance level A and level B

Only buy features that are needed: Use of 3rd party AES-67 / SMPTE ports is licensed in blocks of 8 ports. This means customers only need to provision AES-67/SMPTE ST 2210-30 for the ports that need them now and have the option to add additional licenses in the future. The E-IPA card can be expanded in the field via licenses … no needed to wait for (or install) new hardware.

Future proof IP connectivity: Compatible IP Audio exchange with growing number of third-party devices.

Operates with IP Centric Infrastructure: Growing industry trend towards using IP network as a backbone carrier for all signal types (video, audio, intercom, data), especially in broadcasting. Customers are specifying and building IP centric installations, either just at the physical layer (cabling terminated in IP Switches) and/or at both the physical and protocol layers (AES67/SMPTE/NMOS) for Media. Eclipse-HX matrices can now be “plugged into” this trend.

Efficient IP interfacing: The standards based AES67/SMPTE ST 2110-30 interface provides an efficient means to connect the intercom / communication system to third party stage boxes and interface devices. These may be co -located with the matrix or positioned anywhere on the same campus network.

Support Broadcast “Remote Production”:  Remote Production enables the use of studio facilities for remote production for manpower and equipment efficiencies. IP Communication technology is key with matrix equipment centralized and remote locations implemented with peripheral devices (Panels, IPT and Third-party devices) that are remoted
