Wireless: Can I extend the antennas from my WBS-670 / 680 base station?
The 1/2 wave antennas on the WBS670 or 680 base station can be easily remoted from the base by using the AN-680EXT extension kit. The kit consists of a 10 foot (3m) low loss coaxial cable with TNC connectors, mounting bracket and TNC bulkhead connector.
This allows the user to remote the antennas out from behind a rack when the base station is installed in a equipment rack. Optimum placement of antennas would be at the top of the rack to ensure best line of site operation.
The existing AN-680 antennas can be remoted as they are 1/2 wave antennas and have their own internal ground plane.
