Wireless: Is the Freespeak II configuration editor software compatible with Windows XP?

Question:  I tried installing the Freespeak II config editor software onto a laptop running XP and get the following error when installing:

Can you explain what this error means?  Can I install this software on my PC?

Answer:  Microsoft recently discontinued support for XP 32 bit operating platforms.  Clear-Com software now only supports software installation on 32/64 bit platforms like Windows 7 and 8 systems and the installer programs like Microsoft net framework are designed to install on W7 platforms .  We would recommend that you upgrade your XP platform to W7 and install the software on that platform.

The FreeSpeak II configuration applications runs on the following versions of Windows:• Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).• Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit)• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 SP2 (32-bit and 64-bit).• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit).
Note: Operation on other platforms, including Windows XP, is no longer supported.
