Tempest: Do the 4-Wire RJ-45 connectors on the Tempest base provide Matrix port handshake?

On a MTX+3 and a Eclipse frame if an external device has pins 1+7 and 2+8 looped together on the MVX RJ45 connector. The matrix will recognise the port is active when plugged in and light the appropriate port LED on the MVX card.
The RJ-45 4-wire ports on the Tempest base station do not provide an internal loop-back handshake to a Matrix +3 or Eclipse frame.  Pins 1,2, 7 and 8 are not connection pins on the RJ-45.
This means that users looking to generate a Matrix handshake at the ports on the frame will need to externally loop on the CAT-5 cable pins 1 to 7 and 2 to 8 in order to generate the handshake at the Matrix frame port and declare the Matrix port as a "Direct" in the PFM-WIN or ECS software.
