Wireless: Broken Antennas on HM Electronics BP850 beltpacs

Question:  We are having a lot of breakage on our wireless beltpacs. Is this normal? It seems to happen if someone is wearing the intercom beltpac and sits down. This seems to bend the antenna over and then the core breaks on the antenna and we need to replace it. Answer:  As you have noted the design of the antenna is flexible to a point.  However it is much more ridged at the beltpac connection and will break if stressed too far.  Care should be taken as to the placement of the antenna when the user is sitting down.
