Wireless: Can I extend / remote the antennas on the DX-210 base station?

Question:  I am trying to get better range from an HME DX-210. The base unit does not cover our three studios very well, due to reinforced concrete walls.I would like to install external antennas. I am going to order the splitters that Clear Com makes for their 2.4 GHz units. The question I have is, are the connectors on the back of the DX210 base unit really diversity outputs?

Answer:  The whip antennas can be remotely located from the DX-210 base station, they are 1/2 wave dipole antennas and therefore do not require an external ground plane to work properly when remotely located away from the base station.  Each antenna on the DX-210 base station performs both transmit and receive functions.
Using the DX series accessory antenna splitter and antenna extension cables (LMR-400 low loss coaxial cable) the base station antennas can be remotely located away from the base station in order to extend the operating range of the system.  Each 30 foot coaxial extension cable has approximately 2.4db loss at 2.4 GHz.  Each antenna splitter has approximately 3db loss.  Factor in these loss numbers when constructing remote antenna zones, usually 6 to 7 db of loss is acceptable for this type of remote passive antenna system, try to keep the antenna runs at 50 feet or less if using a splitter.
See below a diagram of remote antennas on a DX-210 system.
