Upgrading and downgrading LQ boxes

Clear-Com often releases updates to LQ - the fixes included are listed at https://www.clearcom.com/support/download-center/?product_name=LQ%C2%AE+Series+IP+Interfaces&current-version=1&media-type=software-firmware

Before updating, please ensure that a backup of the current LQ configuration is taken, and be aware there is a small chance of the IP settings being modified with much older versions - so updating remote sites without a way to correct IP changes is not advised.

USB method:

  1. Copy the ext3.gz file to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB A drive.

  2. Place the USB key into the USB connector under the rubber cover, bottom left of the LQ.

  3. Hold down the center (dot) button, choose Administration > Settings > Save > Save Now (dot).

  4. Click up to Device > Update > Choose the ext3.gz file > (dot)

  5. System will show Loading Image then Writing Flash > Rebooting then should boot normally.

Web (CCM) method:

  1. Place a computer on a network that can reach the IP address shown on the LQ front screen.

  2. Login. Try admin/admin (or any known password) and if that doesn’t work, use the front menu:

    1. Hold down the center (dot) button and then click down to Networking

    2. Hit right and down to CCM password. Hit right and write or photograph the password.

    3. If there is no CCM password and the password is not known, go to Administration, down to Reset CCM password, and a default password will be generated and available under Networking.

  3. Go to Device > Save / Restore System Settings. Hit Save, and a .cca file will be downloaded.

  4. Go to Upgrade, Click Select File and choose cck or ext3.gz file. This will upload and be verified:

  5. Once Validation is complete, the device will reboot and reconnect.
