What AES67 timing requirements are needed for V-Iris panels
Question : Do i need to use the same timing for IP antennas and V-Iris panels running over a AES67 network
Solution
IP Antennas have a very small synchronization tolerance. The PTP delay timing (OFM) must be within ± 1us
V-Iris panels do not have such a small tolerance on the PTP (OFM) timing. The main rule for V-Iris is that the overall packet travel time must be less than 2ms or you will have no audio (same is true for IPT )
If you are running both IPT and V-Iris panels over the same AES67 network then you should meet the stricter requirements for IPT antennas
If you are running ONLY V-Iris panels over a AES67 network then the main rule is that the overall packet travel time must be less than 2ms or you will have no audio (same is true for IPT )
