Matrix: Can I designate a port with a blank label name?

Question:  I want to create a "blank" label name for a specific port on my Matrix +3 frame, but when I attempt this the generic port name always reappears, that is I see the @xxx label name for the talk and listen label.  Is there any way to get around this?
Answer:  Unfortunately the Matrix +3 software doesn’t recognize a blank port name, it needs at least one character to create a valid port. Unnamed ports get the generic @XXX on the talk and listen label names for the port.
If you need to create a “blank” port name the best fall back option would be to use a single “dash” or “underscore” or a "period" character on the talk and listen port name.
