Is there a way to setup the PIC-4704 as a dry IFB instead of a wet IFB?
Question: Is there a way to setup the PIC-4704 as a dry IFB instead of a wet IFB? My contractor who installed the system decided to accomplish this by not connecting pin 2 on the talent output XLRs. I don't think that's correct though because I detect a voltage on pin 3 whenever I press one of the IFB talk buttons.
Answer: The PIC-4704 has the ability to control program feed mixindependently for each of the 4 talents when connected properly. You can gocompletely dry if you wish. Pin 2 provides +30 to power devices like our TR-50.Pin 1 is ground and pin 3 the audio. Applying a small voltageto pin 3 (audio) is how the dip is engaged for the IFB.
