Matrix: What functions are available in "On-Line" mode in ECS Setup Matrix Hardware?

The Online Configuration tab in Setup Matrix Hardware allows the ECS user to directly recover configuration information from the matrix and update the matrix configuration.  All the Online Configuration facilities require an Ethernet connection to the matrix.

BACK UP KEY STATUS --> The Back up Key Status button allows the ECS user to upload and store a record of all the talk and listen keys active at the time and store this information on the ECS server.  This function also saves the states of the panel microphones, panel headsets and panel loudspeakers.  This facility could be used for example to record the state of talk and listen keys prior to a Black reset of the matrix. This function is used in conjunction with the ‘Restore Key Status’ function.

RESTORE KEY STATUS --> The Restore Key Status button allows the ECS user to download  a previously saved record of the state of talk and listen keys to the matrix to restore the talk and listen keys to their previous states.  This function also restores the states of the panel microphones, panel headsets and panel loudspeakers.  This could be done for example after a Black reset of the matrix. This function is used in conjunction with the ‘Back up Key Status’ function.

STATUS CHECK --> Click on the ‘Status Check’ button to compare the hardware connected to the matrix to the current map by interrogating the matrix and displaying in ECS exactly what hardware is connected.  This information is displayed as differences between the current ECS map and the current active matrix configuration.
This facility is intended to aid the setting up of brand new configurations by eliminating the need to manually configure each panel and Interface in ECS using the Setup Matrix Hardware facility.
It also allows the ECS user to check the current ECS map against the Eclipse rack physical configuration; this helps the ECS user to determine if hardware has been added, removed, switched off or is faulty and therefore identifying potential problems early.

FIRMWARE REPORT --> The Firmware Report button causes ECS to request the details of all the firmware versions on the matrix cards and attached panels which support the function. The firmware versions are listed in a text window and can be exported to a .csv file.  This file is a text file and can be opened by text editors such as Word-pad.
