Partyline: Can I use V-Pack software offline to create custom RS-601 beltpack setups?
Question: Can I create custom RS-601 beltpack setups with V-Pack software offline or does the software need to be connected to a beltpack online in order to program?
Answer: V-Pack software can be used offline to create custom beltpack setups. Simply activate the V-Pack software and select the "Setup" option. This will take the user to the "Clear-Com RS-600 Series Beltpack Setup" screen (see screenshot below).
Select the desired beltpack model from the menu list, then select "Mode" to use the standard Clear-Com settings or Custom 2, 3 or 4 options.
Then go to the "Settings" area and select Operation, Headset and Advanced to select custom settings for the beltpack. This will open new screens that allow the user to implement custom settings for the beltpack. Once these settings are determined and selected, go back to the "Clear-Com RS-600 Series Beltpack Setup" screen and select Computer / Save file and follow the screen prompts to save the custom settings.
When a beltpack is connected to V-Pack and the software is enabled in "online" mode the custom settings can be retrieved and downloaded to the connected beltpack.
