If you need to make a RJ45 to XLR cable adapter for Helixent systems the pin out is below A Shielded CAT5 cable may give you better connectivity when using HelixNet Belt Packs. Here is the standard pinout to use when ending Shielded CAT5 or CAT6 cable with XLR connectors. We double up on the copper to make a better connection:





Wire the Cable Screen/Shield/Drain wire to pin 1 or XLR Shell. Pin 1 of the XLR is connected to the internal GND of the Helixnet
Note: Cable Shield/Drain should be connected to XLR pin 1 for shield continuity. And that’s not only true for Cat5/Cat6, it’s also true for all twisted pairs as well.Note: Clear-Com recommends the use of shielded twisted pair cabling.
