Matrix: Why Matrix using old PSU resets after installing a new card?
On a recentcommissioning, an AE encountered an issue related to old power supplies. Here’re the details: - Median installed abouteight years ago with two CPUs, four MVX cards, 1 EQUE for FS. - upgrade matrix from EHX7.0 to 8.5.2, which went well- Installed a new IVC-32 card andsoon after we realized the customer couldn’t do a simple “Apply Changes”, theywould get an error. During the troubleshooting process one of the powersupplies quit working, so we only had one power supply for the wholesystem. At this point, the system stated resetting every couple ofminutes. After some research, we learned the old power supplies did not supplyenough power for this combination of cards.
To stabilize the system, wehad to remove the IVC and one CPU. The old PSUs were dated 2007 PN: 740134Z
We ordered two new powersupplies and the system is OK.
