Matrix: Can I delete a port on a Matrix +3 system?
Question: If I eliminate the port, will it go blank? I'm trying to simplify the hardware and labels screen to only show active / connected ports on the system.
Answer: You cannot delete unused ports in software as the software is able to ID port hardware automatically (matrix port cards), in the hardware and labels screen you can hide unused ports via software control by check marking the "Hide Unused Ports" in the Setup / Hardware and Labels screen (see upper right corner of this screen).
Ports can’t be deleted unless you remove the hardware (port card). If you have a panel with generic labels (@XXX) those can be removed from the panel simply by deleting the label from the panel in the key assignments screen.
