Matrix: Is it possible to arrange for the director and PA to be routed to a port (called PTB say) and have it so on system power up this route is enabled?
Is it possible to arrange for the director and PA to be routed to aport (called PTB say) and have it so on system power up this route is enabled?
Yes this is possible. By default the microphone of a panel is turned OFF unless they areactively talking to somebody (this is to prevent people from listening /Eavesdropping (snooping) on your microphone without you knowing) –If you want a panel's mic to be enabled on power up then you need toset the Eavesdropping tick box to true (this can be found in hardware>cardsand ports > advanced settings column) Set the Eavesdropping tick box to true
You can then either use logic maestro to create the action of DIR / PAtalking to the PTB port or use the ECS >local advance Forced listen screen and set a crosspoint from Dir / PA to the PTB port
Can I also have a key on director’s panel that would mute the crosspointsof dir and pa to that port. Yes this is possible You can use either Logic Maestro or use the ROUTE function in ECS to“inhibit” talk from the director/pa to the PTB port
