Matrix: Can I connect a standard wired electret microphone directly to a V-Series panel?

Question:  Does the V12PDX4 & V24PDX4 V-series panels have the following capability?  Could the panels supply 48 volts phantom for a standard electret mic base and at least 18V phantom for a hanging mic? I could not find this in the manual. I am pretty certain it does have a setting for powering mics but I am not certain of the levels.

Answer:  The V-Series panels only provide 2Vdc for powering an electret gooseneck microphone or lapel type microphone electronics directly.  It cannot supply the required 18 to 48V that most wired electret mics require to operate properly.  In order to use one of these types of microphones the user would have to use a separate microphone phantom adapter that supplies the microphone base with the required electret dc power and has an output that is configured for a dynamic microphone.  The user would then configure the V-Panel gooseneck microphone input for dynamic balanced via ECS software.
Radio Design Labs makes a small mic phantom adapter, model # ST-MPA2, the link for RDL is here:
