Other: How to set a Static IP on an Android Tablet device

Question:  How to set a static IP address on an Android tablet device to view the web browser CCM screen on a LQ or HelixNet v3.0 device?
Answer:  Normally, the IP address is set in DHCP mode and can change each time you connect to the network.
The procedure to do this is slightly different between Android 3 and 4.
If you have Android 3.x, use this procedure:
  • Open Settings
  • Touch Wireless & networks on the left
  • Touch Wi-Fi settings
  • Find the network you wish to connect to and long press it (touch and hold).
  • Touch Modify Network
  • Touch the IP Settings drop down and change from DHCP to Static
  • Enter the settings for your network - if you are unsure what settings to use, contact your network administrator

If you are using Android 4.0, then use this procedure:
  • Open Settings
  • Under the Wireless & networks heading on the left, Touch Wi-Fi
  • Find the network you wish to connect to and long press it (touch and hold).
  • Touch Modify Network
  • Touch the Show Advanced Settings check box in the lower left corner of the dialog box.  If the Show Advanced Settings option is not displayed, you may need to go back a step and Touch Forget Network, and then, when you reset up the network, you will see the Show Advanced Settings option
  • Touch the IP Settings drop down and change from DHCP to Static
  • Enter the settings for your network - if you are unsure what settings to use, contact your network administrator
