Matrix: How should the port count on a E-FIB card be properly set?

Once a E-FIB fibre card is declared in ECS it will be available to configure in the Setup Matrix Hardware Screen.

In the advanced settings column the port count specifies the number of unidirectional fibre channels that will be configured for the fibre card.  The port count may be set to a multiple of 16 ports up to a maximum of 192 by dragging the selector key left or right with the mouse.

As a general guide the port count (fibre channels) should be set to the maximum number of panels on the matrix + an extra 32 ports as a system over head. The rule is in place so that we try to reserve a fibre channel per panel. so that each panel as access to the fibre ring.If the matrix is being used as a 4wire only router then the number of fibre channels  equal the number of 4wire port. For example, if two matrices are present each with ten panels the port count should be set to 48 (10 +32= 42, however 48 is the closest appropriate number that is divisible by sixteen.)
Note: The port count should not be set to an excessive number (significantly more that the number of panels available for connection via the fibre card) as this may reduce system performance.
