Matrix: What is the maximum length of a CAT-5 run from Matrix to panel?
ECLIPSE MATRIX
Using standard CAT-5 cable an Eclipse panel can be remoted approximately 3000 ft (1000m) from an Eclipse matrix (Omega, Median or Eclipse-Pico).
The 3000 ft (1000m) distance is valid for MVX-A16 port cards.
MATRIX +3
Using standard CAT-5 cable a Matrix +3 station can be remoted approximately 5000 ft** (1.5 km) from a Matrix +3 frame (System 200, Compact 72 or Micro-Matrix).
The 5000 ft distance is valid for MVX-A8, MTX-A8 (analog) or MVX-D8 (digital) port cards.
**The distance specified above for Matrix +3 is conservative and can be extended up to 10,000 ft using high quality 24 gauge CAT-5 cable.
