Partyline: What functions do the jumpers inside the MT-701 support?

The MT-701 has a couple of reference jumpers for XLR pin 1 or 2
Without power on both sides, the MT-701 cannot pass call signal, however the audio will work ...Pin 2 reference is only used in special situations therefore always use pin 1.The use of pin 2, though rarely used, is so the reference is within the “twisted pair”, therefore using the twist to help null the reference signal in extremely long cable runs in very large systems
