Matrix: Can I copy and paste panel layouts across different ECS configuration maps?

Question:  If I have multiple configuration maps open in ECS software can I copy and paste panel layouts across the different configuration maps?
Answer: It is not recommended to copy and paste panel layouts from one configuration map to another. The two separate configurations cannot share data. If the panel layout is saved and downloaded to the frame the map can't properly assign the labels to the selected panels and the key slots will be unpopulated / corrupted. If this happens the panel will need to be rebuilt using the active configuration map talk and listen label port assignments.  This also applies to control, party-line and fixed group labels.
However if the configurations are similar or based of each other, then the customer could access the ECS panel programming screen and "save" a panel layout to his PC desktop and then "reload" the panel layout into the new configuration.
