LQ Link-Member Connects to LQ Link-Master But Loses Connection in about 10 seconds.

Problem

You have done all the necessary network configurations and can connect to the LQ Link-Master but…LQ Link-Member sitting behind firewall would connect for a short while before disconnecting from LQ Link-Master in remote location!

You have ensured that the required ports on the LQ Link-Master are reachable (port-forwarded if necessary).

  • TCP 80

  • TCP 443 (if Force-HTTPS enabled)

  • TCP/UDP 655

If in doubt, please look at the LQ-SERIES USER GUIDE (Page 70 onwards) for more information.

Solution

It is most commonly an issue at the LQ Link-Member site where an IP conflict has occurred.

We know managed networks can sometimes get messy with DHCP servers not detecting manually configured IP addresses by end users..

Here are some steps to check through:

  1. Connect your LQ Link-Member as you would operationally to the network.

  2. You have ensured that the LQ Link-Member’s connection line is able to reach the open internet.

  3. Have you or your IT Administrator do a ping on your LQ Link-Member’s IP address.

  4. You will see a reply from <LQ Link-Member IP Address>..

  5. Now, unplug the LQ Link-Member and see if it is still showing a reply..

  6. If Yes, assign another IP Address to the LQ Link-Member and try connecting to the LQ Link-Master again.

  7. If No, repeat Step 2 with another device (for e.g. a PC) and check for access to the internet.
