How do I program the 500/700-31-XX 16 key level panel using the Epsilon5 programmer?

This 'How to' details the procedure of loading the new firmware into a panel using an Epsilon5 programmer in stand-alone mode. This assumes that the programmer has already been configured with reference to documents “Equinox Epsilon5 programmer setup” and “Epsilon5 Upload procedure”.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Before applying mains power, connect the programmer to the footswitch connector situated on the rear of the panel.

  2. Connect mains power to the panel and confirm that the red ‘FAIL’ LED on the programmer flashes.

  3. Press the ‘YES’ button and confirm that the red LED goes off.

  4. Press the ‘YES’ button again. The amber ‘BUSY’ LED should come on, followed by the green ‘PASS’ LED flashing.

    The panel should also have booted as soon as the programming finished

    If the programming fails, the red ‘FAIL’ LED will flash. If this happens, or if the panel doesn’t boot, try programming again.

  5. Remove power from the unit before disconnecting the programmer.

  6. Finally, position the two jumper links on the rear panel as shown.
