How do I check a 700-45/46 series IP panel for no mic audio?

If the steps show in the ‘How do I fault find a panel with no microphone audio?’ points towards a defect with the panel please try the following checks.

Step-by-step guide

  1. If the test proves the fault is following the panel, enter the panel diagnostics and check if the panel controller board is receiving audio from its local microphone. To enter the panel set-up menu, press and hold the menu button whilst rotating the panel encoder. Once in the Set-up menu select the Audio > Levels page, if you scratch or speak into the mic you should see approximately 0dB audio level on the ‘Mic’ level meter.
  2. If test 1 shows no audio is present, then remove the mains power to the panel, remove the set screws holding the rear cover and once the rear cover is removed check to see the microphone cable is fully seated to the connector on the main board.
