How do I program the Cut switch on the 700-31-0*/ 500-31-6* and 700-41-0* /500-41-6* series panel range?

When the panel is connected to a Commander or Orator matrix (500 series panel) the panel cut switch is programmed locally on the panel. If the panel is a 700 series version this is for a Gemini or Messenger system and the cut switch is configured centrally by the matrix via the Gateway Editor>Advanced Panel Editor>Settings page.

Step-by-step guide

  1. To configure the front panel cut switch you will need to enter the panel cut switch set-up menu. With the panel connected to the matrix, toggle up the "Assign/Shift" key so the ‘assign’ light is flashing.

Choose any configured key and press it down, the ‘?’ should now be in the key display.

Use the panel rotary encoder rotate it anti-clockwise 1 notch

Now the key display shows "SwCut", press the key again to go into the Switch Cut menu.

  2. A new menu is displayed, the bottom 3 switches on the menu page change the settings on this page (the cut states)

    The three options are:

HS Mic  -             When set to ON this enables the headset microphone when the Cut switch is ON.

LS Cut    -           When set to ON this cuts the panel loudspeaker when the Cut switch is ON.

MicCut  -             When set to ON this cuts the panel microphone when the Cut switch is ON.

  3. To exit the Cut Switch menu toggle the "Assign/Shift" key up then immediately down. The ‘assign’ light should now be off and the panel display will return to the normal key assignments.

If the panel is connected to a Gemini or Messenger system then the cut switch is configured the Gateway Editor > Advanced Panel Editor > Settings page in the menu options shown below.
