How do I program the cut switch in 700/500-33-0*, 700/500-45-0*and 700/500-46-0* series panel?

When the panel is connected to a Commander or Orator matrix the panel cut switch is programmed locally on the panel. If the panel is connected to a Gemini or Messenger system then the cut switch is configured centrally by the matrix via the Gateway Editor.

Step-by-step guide

  1. To configure the front panel cut switch for a 500 series (Commander/Orator) panel type, you will need to enter the panel diagnostics menu. To enter the panel diagnostic menu turn the volume knob whilst at the same time holding the 'Assign' button up. Once in the diagnostic screen the panel display will now show page 1 of 5 pages of diagnostic options.

  2. The CUT switch is configured on page 1. 

    Page 1 options:

    LSCut - ON / OFF (Loudspeaker Cut) if set to ON the audio to panel LS is cut when the panel cut switch is active.

    HSCut - ON / OFF (Headset Cut) if set to ON the audio to panel headset ears are cut when the panel cut switch is active.

    M Cut - ON / OFF (Microphone Cut) if set to ON the audio from both panel mic and headset mic is cut when the panel cut switch is active.

    M chg – ON / OFF (Panel to Headset Mic Changeover) if set to ON the audio from the panel mic is cut and the headset mic is enabled (changeover).


  3. Press the 'Shift' key until the fifth diagnostic page is displayed as shown below:

    Page 5 options:

    STORE – Select to save changes made to in the set-up menu.

    Select the 'STORE' option, this will save the changes made to the cut switch programming.


    If the panel is connected to a Gemini or Messenger system then the cut switch is configured the Gateway Editor > Advanced Panel Editor > Settings page in the menu options shown below.
