How to recover a Gemini after a factory reset
If the Gemini has had a factory reset applied, this will erase the firmware and just leaves the bootloader installed. To re-cover the firmware needs to be re-applied to the Gemini matrix.
Depending of the version of bootloader, after a factory reset the Gemini matrix will go to the default IP address of 192.168.1.10, see the note at the end of this email if this IP address does not work.
Browse to the Gemini using this address, this should now display the Gemini recovery screen. Choose the option to reload the Gemini firmware, you will need the install.zip file, this is the main firmware for the Gemini matrix. The file should be in the following folder on the PC running the Gateway Editor
C:\Program Files (x86)\Trilogy\Trilogy V5\GeminiSoftware\
If the Gemini folder does not exist, then re-launch the Trilogy installer and make sure the following options are selected on the installer >
‘TrilogyV5setup.exe’ from the provided installation CD or installation file emailed. The Installer will now launch.
Choose next to continue, on the first screen choose ‘Installation’.
On the ‘Quick or Customised Upgrade’ screen choose ‘Customised’. On the ‘Selected components’ choose ‘Configuration Editor’, ‘Database Supervisor’ and ‘Gemini Software’ only. The only exception is if you are using the Virtual Panel or USB box options, in which case check these options also. Do not install components which are not appropriate to your system.
Click next through the remaining screens to complete the install.
One point to note depending on the age of the Gemini, early units had a different recovery address, this could be one of the following:
192.168.24.210
192.168.90.100
192.168.30.210
192.168.100.11
192.168.100.1
