UPDATE - Alternating The Same Channels on FS Edge System - Can You Use The Same Two Channels Between Transceivers?
THE STEPS MENTIONED IN THIS ARTICLE IS NO LONGER RECOMMENDED AS WE HAVE LEARNED THAT THERE IS SOME CHANNEL INTERFERENCE. PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW THESE STEPS.
As discussed in this solution: How to Know If FS Edge Transceivers On Same Channel Are Too Close To Each Other , you must ensure that transceivers using the same channel can not see each other, otherwise your beltpack won’t roam from one transceiver to the next. This image shows what Site Survey Mode would indicate should your beltpack see the two transceivers that are on the same channel. Note the packet loss.
Short answer is NO, you can not use the same channels between transceivers.
WITH THAT SAID:
Though this has NOT been thoroughly tested by Clear-Com, you in theory can alternate the channels between the two transceivers. As an example, if transceiver 1 is on channels 40-48, but transceiver is on channels 48-40, then this is technically alternating the channel and the Site Survey will show no packet loss.
To reiterate, this has not been tested by Clear-Com and should work in theory! It is highly recommended that you use two of the many other channels available in the 5GHz range.
