Station-IC: I cannot re-host license from my laptop
I'm trying to assist our customer who is trying to move a Station-IC license with from one computer to another.
The customer's old PC is out of action, and they have a new PC to load for new passcode for Station-IC since they can't transfer the old passcode
however we can't deactivate the license, can you please proceed to "blacklist" this license (via the cm container i gave you in the screenshots), and proceed to issue a new initial license for the remaining time?
Answer :
Station IC licenses that are hosted on the laptop using the CmContainer (WebDepot) method can not be moved or re-assigned on the Clear-Com License-Server side. They can only be re-hosted on the Client side.
Normally re-hosting removes the license from the CmContainer on the laptop and returns the license back to the ticket# that it came from on the Clear-Com License-Server side
see Station-IC: What is WebDepot ?
The customers ticket has 10 initial licenses and 20 extension licenses.
We can via How Can I Check if the Clear-Com License Server is Up and How Many Seats are Left on my License Ticket? to see how many licenses are available
The license server shows that there are 0 initial licenses and 6 extension licenses remaining on the ticket.
CmContainer 130-1682xxxxx
Had an initial license installed into it on Mar/21
Since then extension licenses have been installed to keep the license active.
The last extension license was installed Aug/26. This license will expire Mar/27
Losing access to the computer means losing access to the remainder of the duration of the time until Mar/27.
As you have lost access to the PC and the CmContainer, and are not able to re-host
We can blacklist 130-1682xxxxx. Attempting to install licenses into this container will lock the ticket that was attempted to be used.
We can provide a new initial license with 278 days to the ticket LQH8V-yyyyyy
To cover the remaining time left on the ticket upto Mar/27
If the computer hosting the Station IC license (using WeDepot and CmContainer) is lost / not available / disk drive re-formatted then Clear-Com will re-issue for the remaining duration and blacklist the old container.
If the computer (using WeDepot and CmContainer) is still available then we ask, you use the standard re-hosting method to move the license from one computer to another
