Arcadia: Can I use a GPI to trigger a CALL signal

Arcadia: Can I use a GPI to trigger a CALL signal

I have an application where I need to trigger call signal to a number of panels using a GPI input from Radii basestation with it is receiving audio from the handheld in the field. Also known as SQL/COR signal.

When the radio base is receiving a signal/audio from the handheld radio. Opposite to sending a PTT to the radio using a GPO. I want the relevant Chnl label to flash “call” , to alert panel operator as to which radio-base is receiving.

Answer

Yes this can be easily achieved

Handheld (walkie/talkie) talks >>> audio received by basestation >> basestation sends a GPO (relay output (aka) SQL/COR signal) >>> this triggers the GPI (relay input) on the Arcadia

The Arcadia then uses the GPI signal to flash CALL signal on the channel associated with the radio to show there is audio on the channel

Step #1 place the channel buttons on the intercom panels

In this example we have selected Channel #6 , only place channel 6 on the panels / FSII BPs as required

Step #2 We create a GPI action , using a spare un-used port ,

we make the statement WHEN GPI# 1 is active route 4wire-1 to Channel # 6

4wire-1 is a un-used port, any used port / role can be used

Step #3 We create a logic statement, whenever 4wire1 talks into channel 6 - send a call signal
