Matrix : EHX Download fails with "More than 16 mirrored keys" message

A mirrored key is a duplicate key to the same destination as other key(s) on the same panel. It can be used when access to a useful Partyline is needed from every page on a panel, or to make it easier to hit an important button.

In recent EHX versions, these have been more tightly integrated, showing the same signalization on each key regardless of which key is being activated. With this integration, there is now a limit of 16 linked keys per panel which did not exist before. When upgrading, you might see this message.

To resolve, make sure you are dealing with just one copy of the current configuration - that Layout > Configuration Manager only shows one configuration - otherwise you’ll be hunting in the wrong place.

Go to Configuration > Panels and see if there is a page that has lots of keys to the same destination for testing, and if possible, remove some. Go page-by-page to see what is on the panel.

If there doesn’t appear to be a large number of keys to the same destination, there are options:

  1. Check the Stacked Keys (any with ellipsis) and see if they point to the same destination - this will act in a similar way. Consider moving the function to a Secondary Action.

  2. Use the special KeyDeleter application - Key Deleter

  3. Delete and remake the port - this is the most disruptive as it will affect incoming links.
