Skyport: GEN-IC DEMO Workspace Management

Skyport: GEN-IC DEMO Workspace Management

Jun 26, 2026 This

Customer requests a GEN-IC demo

As account admins for the Demo Skyport account

  1. we create a demo workspace for them

  2. we purchase a PREMIUM GEN-IC instance

  3. we move the instance to the workspace

  4. we invite the customer as a GEN-IC admin  (we do this, so we still maintain control of demo workspace)

  5. customer uses the workspace and invites other people (virtual clients )

  6. a few weeks later the Gen-IC admin then requests to add their own (customer-owned) LQ to the workspace

  7. We then attempt to promote the GEN-IC admin to become a workspace admin

  • at this point , we are not able to do it and the customer does not have privileges to add a LQ to the workspace

Gen-IC admins cannot add linked LQ

You cannot unfortunately promote a Gen-IC admin to workspace admin.

However account owner/admins and workspace owner/admins can add LQs

As a work around - the account owner can

a) Revoke the GEN-IC admin and re-invite the same user as a workspace admin

b) Invite the same GEN-IC admin user but use a different email address for him

c) the account-owner can invite himself, as workspace owner, using different address

example John Doe is Gen-IC admin, using his @doe.com email,

We can then invite him to become a workspace owner, using his @email.com account , in order to allow him to link his own LQs

OR

example John Doe is account owner admin, using his @doe.com email,

He can then invite himself to become a workspace owner, using his @email.com account , in order to allow him to provide ongoing support to the demo customer setting up his GEN-IC

As long as the email domains are different the same person can re-invited
