EHX: ARC - Access, Resource, Configuration
Access, Resource, Configuration
It's a new architectural framework that Clear-Com introduced to make intercom systems more software-defined and less dependent on fixed hardware assignments.

EHX - ARC Technology for more details
ARC : Allows the customer to configure for example 10 free floating ports but have 20 h/w devices in the field
Therefore the first 10 devices that log in again access to the system, it allows you to only use the number of ports needed concurrently and not purchase a port per device
Increase the number of ARC ports dynamically as needed to suit your production needs
The three layers are:
Component | Meaning |
|---|---|
Access | Identity-based login. Users can log into the system and access their communications profile from different devices and locations. |
Resource | Dynamic allocation of system resources such as panels, beltpacks, and licenses. Resources can be assigned as fixed or floating rather than permanently tied to hardware. |
Configuration | Role-based workflows that define what a user sees and does. A user can move between keypanels, beltpacks, or virtual clients while keeping the same communications profile |
Another way to think about ARC is:
Access = Who am I?
Resource = What system capacity can I use?
Configuration = What role and communications workflow do I get?
Access
Create access records , any device using the correct User ID and Password credentials can log in
Resource
The first device that logs in will use the first FREE floating port
Configuration
Configure keys (PL, IFBs, Groups etc..) on your Roles as per normal
