Arcadia: Is it possible to connect a FOR-22 directly to an Arcadia

Arcadia: Is it possible to connect a FOR-22 directly to an Arcadia

Yes its possible to connect an FOR-22 directly to the 4wire port of an Arcadia and use call signal to trigger the radio PTT

  1. Using Arcadia R4.1 or later

  2. Power the FOR-22 from the IMF frame

  3. Connect to Arcadia 4w port , using a straight CAT5 Cable

  4. Set receive call signal on the 4w port

The following checks were made

Q1) see if talking directly to FOR-22 port triggers it's relay if you press the call button on

  • Arcadia front panel

  • Helixnet bp

  • Fsii bp

  • Panel up/down blue buttons

Answer #1

Yes : By sending call signal from Arcadia front panel, Helixnet BP, FS-II, FS-Icon, V-series panel.

All trigger the FOR-22 relay.

Q2) Place FOR-22 into a PL chnl and see if it triggers whenever someone talks on the chnl

Answer #2

Yes this works

  • This requires logic to get working.

  • Set up some logic to make a "call on talk" for non-helixnet devices.

  • It requires a line of logic per device

For HelixNet devices you can set up a secondary action in each role to call on talk.

You may want to turn off the call alert mode on the wireless bps because there is a lot of buzzing and beeping whenever someone talks to the PL with the FOR-22 attached
