Matrix: I am seeing FAILED TO SEND ETH messages - trunking issue

I have a number of matrices linked together and i sometimes see FAILED TO SEND ETH - messages in the event log

This message is sometimes seen when the CPU failed to send a message via the LAN port , maybe due to a dropped packet or extra long internal processing

it normal to see the message once a few hours or days but if you get 4-5 in a row then it could point to a problem on the network or CPU resource usage is high

You can get ethernet stats from the event log request list.

Goto EHX> Diagnostics > event Log , select PLAY (top right hand corner)

Select request matrix information > select Ethernet Stats > SEND

We suggest you clear the buffer first before looking at the results

  1. get the stats

  2. Clear the stats (by typing the number “1” in the value column > then hit SEND

  3. Wait for e.g. 60 seconds

  4. Get the stats
