AES67: PTP issues Alcatel‑Lucent OmniSwitch 6860

Customer is getting PTP errors when using an Alcatel‑Lucent OmniSwitch 6860 with IPT and an Arcadia base.

however an extract from the Alcatel‑Lucent OmniSwitch PTP white paper states

We have asked the customer to check the following

They are running the latest firmware that supports Transparent Clock mode on their switch

read through : https://service.shure.com/articles/en_US/Knowledge/Dante-Switch-Configuration

 as it provides a good set of troubleshooting steps

 

Assuming the basics have been covered regarding setting up the AES67 network on its on set of dedicated switches or VLAN

  • Arcadia is in PTP leader mode 

  • Arcadia management LAN #1 is set with fixed IP address 

  • Arcadia AES67 LAN #2 is set with fixed IP Address and on its own VLAN 

  • less than 3 switch hopes
