Helixnet: HXII-BP-4K Product Mismatch warning
Q:
I bought an HXII-BP-4X beltpack to use with my HMS-4X base, but I can’t use all four channel keys and I see a product mismatch warning on the beltpac window. Why is that, and what can I do?
A:
The HMS-4X base only supports two channels per role, so when you assign a role from the base to the HXII-BP-4X, only two keys will work. The extra keys won’t pass audio or call signals—this is expected behavior.
Try this possible work around, you might be able to still use all four channels if you configure the beltpack locally instead of using a role from the base. In testing, all four channels worked fine when set up locally, provided the beltpack firmware was updated to 5.3.x or later. Older firmware (like 5.1.20.0) caused a “Product Mismatch” warning, but that issue disappears with newer firmware.
Summary:
HMS-4X roles = 2 channels only (by design).
To get 4 channels, configure the beltpack locally this may not work in all cases, this a possible work around.
Update firmware to 5.3.x or newer to avoid mismatch warnings.
Step-by-Step: How to Enable All 4 Channels on HXII-BP-4X with HMS-4X
Check Firmware Version:
On the beltpack, verify firmware is 5.3.x or later.
If not, update to the latest version.
Avoid Role Assignment from HMS-4X:
Do not select a role from the base for this beltpack.
Roles on HMS-4X only support two channels.
Configure Locally on Beltpack:
Navigate to the beltpack’s local configuration menu.
Assign all four keys to desired channels manually.
Test Audio and Call Signals:
Confirm that all four channels pass audio and call signals correctly.
Ignore “Product Mismatch” Warning (if firmware is old):
If you see this warning on older firmware, update to 5.3.x to resolve it.
NOTE: The HMS-4X does not natively support four-channel operation on the HXII-BP-4K. This workaround was discovered by one of Clear-Com’s creative customers and is being shared to help others who may encounter the same limitation.
