EHX Matrix: How to change Matrix Frame IP address in EHX? Matrix Static IP Configuration.

With a new matrix frame, the default IP Address is 169.254.0.100 (Link-Local)

Set your PC to a 169.254.x.x address before connecting directly to the Matrix frame (LAN 1)

Once you have reset the frame to it’s default IP Address:

  1. Plug your PC directly into the frame via LAN 1 port. (Make sure your PC is set to the 169.254.x.x subnet)

  2. Launch EHX

  3. Add Matrix (Matrix should be in “Green” or “Amber” - )

  4. Right Click > Change IP Settings > Edit:

    • Disable DHCP 

    • Change Matrix IP Add (e.g 192.168.1.30)

    • Subnet: 255.255.255.0

    • Gateway: (e.g 1923.168.1.1) 

  5. Ping the IP address to confirm connection is establish. 

 

Note:

  1. After configuring the IP, you can now connected the Matrix and PC to a network switch within the same VLAN and subnet. 

  2. If you can ping your frame but it’s grey out on EHX- “Turn OFF the firewall on your PC/ Laptop and re-test: Check your PC's IP address and subnet matches the matrix IP address and subnet settings (same subnet mask but IP address should be different)” see - https://clear-com.atlassian.net/wiki/x/ztB3CQ

 

You can also press and the ENG button on the front of the CPU card and the LED DOT matrix display will scroll and show you the current IP address the matrix is set to.

you can then connect to the matrix directly setting your laptop to be in the same subnet address as the matrix (do not set your laptop to the IP address the matrix) and the Matrix IP address to suit as shown above
