Matrix: Eclipse-HX Upgrade - What to Consider and EHX Firmware Analyzer

Eclipse HX Versions and the Features They Introduced

First thing to make note of is what version the system is currently on.

Open the Eclipse software (ECS or EHX), go to Help and About. Make note of the version.

Follow the correct path below based off the version and type of hardware.

The Pico is no longer supported by Clear-Com, therefore it is recommended you consider upgrading the hardware.

Please reach out to your Regional Sales Manager to determine the best path forward.

This means your system is on the original Eclipse ECS, which is no longer supported.

If you wish to keep the same hardware and upgrade to the EHX latest version, we recommend the following:

Two new CPU cards on the latest version
New power supplies and/or modules
On-site AE Support to upgrade the cards
Consider swapping IVC-32 & EQue cards for E-IPA

All VSeries Panels will work.

iStations may be limited, but recommended they be replaced.

When you upgrade to EHX.

EHX does not support Drake panels, nor are ICS panels

FSBP beltpacks and antennas are not supported

Many customers have old hardware which may have had various software upgrades over the years . No matter what version of EHX you are currently running

PLEASE check your matrix has

The latest PSU modules part # 720379Z (x2 per Omega or Median)
CPU battery voltage is 2.5V or purchase new CPU batteries part # CPU-208-BAT (x1 per CPU card)

One day paid on-site Commissioning

If just doing an upgrade, latest EHX software/firmware, AE support not required, just need to follow directions thoroughly to ensure something isn’t bricked
Technical Support also available if any questions or issues come up

Clear-Com’s Limited Warranty provides free firmware/software upgrades, as long as the major version number has not changed. Using v7.2 as an example, 7 is the major version and .2 is the minor version. If your system is on v7.2 but you want to upgrade to v7.4, it will be free. If wanting to go to v8, this will be charged. Clear-Com’s software policy is to only support versions that are either 3 versions back from the current version or no more than 3 years old
