Arcadia: Linking across the internet using I.V.Directs?
A Linksys Router was used in this example but the underlying principle can be applied on most other routers.
Having a Public Static IP address subscription from your ISP is needed to make this work easily and reliably.
Update to the latest firmware versions.
Configure Port Forwarding on a Linksys Router: https://support.linksys.com/kb/article/318-en/
Set up the relevant I.V.Direct Ports (Arcadia) and IVC ports (LQ/ E-IPA).
From the remote device(s), input the Public Static IP and Forwarded External Port Number from Step 1 to reach the Arcadia situated behind the router.
Check the VOIP Caller setting on the remote Arcadia to enter a specific IP Address and Port Number
Adjust the I.V.Direct Port’s Network Quality setting to WAN/ Internet if experiencing audio packet drops.
Assign I.V.Direct and IVC Ports to your requirements in the relevant devices.
Note: We have seen instances where a remote LQ connecting over the internet to an Arcadia sitting behind a firewall comes up unsuccessful on certain Linksys Routers.
A feature called Express Forwarding may help establish the connections successfully.

Otherwise, please try putting the Arcadia in a DMZ first, and once the link has been made, revert it back behind the firewall.

CAUTION: The DMZ feature is not typically used as it presents significant security risks to the device that you designated on the DMZ. The device is not protected by the built-in firewalls, internet filters, or router web filters.
